Paros

Sun-drenched beaches, labyrinthine old towns, and just the right amount of chaos. Less polished than Santorini, more fun than Mykonos—Paros is where island life feels effortless.

Paros, a mixed bag - but overall pleasent

Paros was a pleasant stop on our Greek journey, offering a mix of experiences that left us with lasting memories.

Dora's Exceptional Hospitality

During our stay, I developed a nagging leg ache from all the walking we'd been doing. Dora, our hotel manager, noticed and went above and beyond to help, providing ice spray and regularly checking in on me. She even upgraded us to a better suite. However, being on the bulkier side, I found the bathroom a bit cramped. Dora promptly arranged for an even more spacious room, ensuring our comfort throughout our stay.

Culinary Delights at Tsachpinis-Ouzeri ton Nautikon

Evenings were often spent at the lively docks, transformed into a bustling nightlife hub. We stumbled upon 'Tsachpinis-Ouzeri ton Nautikon,' a seafood restaurant that quickly became our favorite. Each visit, we tried different dishes, but the standout was consistently the squid ink risotto with lemon pearls—a dish so delectable that we still reminisce about it. The setting by the waterfront added to the charm, making each meal a memorable experience.

Relaxing at Monastiri Beach

One of the highlights was visiting Monastiri Beach. The shallow waters seemed to stretch endlessly, allowing us to wade far out while still standing. Arriving later in the day, we opted to lay our towels on the sand instead of renting sun loungers, which can be pricey. The beach wasn't crowded, offering plenty of space to relax. Given its somewhat remote location, hiring a car or arranging a taxi is advisable for easy access.

A Morning in Lefkes Village

We also visited Lefkes Village, a quaint town nestled in the hills. Stopping for coffee, we hoped to explore more, but since it was early morning, most shops were still closed. While the village is picturesque, there wasn't much to do at that hour beyond admiring the scenery and considering souvenirs. It might be more lively later in the day, but our brief visit left us wanting more.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Paros offered a mix of experiences. While some moments were less thrilling, the genuine warmth of the locals, especially Dora's exceptional hospitality, and the culinary delights we discovered made our stay worthwhile. It's a place where the people truly enhance the charm of the island. Shout out to Dora! You're a life saver
